About Shannon Wallace

Dogs have always been an integral part of my life. There has never been a time I have not lived with a dog (or three). Growing up on a farm in the Peace Country, gave me the opportunity to raise and work with a multitude of different dogs and animals.

Today, my animal family consists of two dogs, two guinea pigs and a cat. Abby is a Newfoundland and has been certified through St John’s Ambulance and the Pet Therapy Society of Northern Alberta as a Therapy Dog. Niso is a Golden Doodle who partnered with me to achieve my Karen Pryor Academy diploma and is now my demo dog for training, canine first aid and workshops. Knuckles the cat was a stray kitten that followed my husband home from a walk twelve years ago and decided to stay. Caramel and Gertie the guinea’s are also a great part of our animal family.

I graduated with distinction from the Karen Pryor Academy and now share my passion and training skills with fellow dog enthusiasts in Grande Prairie and surrounding areas.

I am a proud Dogsafe Authorized Instructor and offer Canine First Aid classes throughout Alberta and Northern BC.

About Krista Fougere

For as long as I can remember, I have always had a passion for animals. I was the kid who was always bringing home all sorts of different creatures and over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to enjoy the companionship of a wide variety of pets from lizards, snakes and turtles to rats, hedgehogs and rabbits and of course, some amazing cats and dogs.

When I was 8 we got our very first family dog, a Bichon named Carson. A year later we added a second Bichon to the family who we named Butler. Butler immediately became my faithful companion and to this day, he is still by my side as my inspiration at almost 16 years old! We rescued our other dog Odie from a puppy mill in Ontario. Odie had a rough beginning in life. We immediately bonded and he has taught me to be patient and understanding and at almost 7 years old, he is becoming a more confident well rounded dog everyday. He has certainly taught me the importance of perseverance and unconditional love. We also have two amazing cats, Hobbes and Grinch and a wonderfully sassy rabbit, Beatrix, who no doubt runs the household and keeps the boys in line!

My experiences with my own animals have inspired me to strive to create a nurturing and comforting experience with the animals I have the privilege of working with. They and my wonderful clients’ pets continue to teach me new things each and every day.

I have been a certified groomer for six years now and aspire to continue to learn and grow and become better every day. I have learned that every animal will speak to you if you simply take the time to listen.

I am so thrilled to be a member of the Canine Quest team and start this amazing new chapter in my career. I know there are may incredible pets and people we will encounter on our journey and I can t wait to see what the future brings.

Thank you for visiting,

Krista

About Jessica Craig

I’m that person who always connects with animals. Growing up I spent a lot of time on my grandpa’s farm where my first canine connection happened with an amazing dog named Heidi and that’s where it all began!

Today my canine family consists of the loyal and determined Nakita, the dopey Odin and mischievous Loki. They are a dynamic trio who love to keep my life interesting. Not to be forgotten, one of the best dogs I’ve had the privilege of having in my life would be the goof ball Dédé.

Nakita and Dédé were litter mates we rescued who had a rather rough start in life. When they came to live with us they were both infected with parvo which they overcame together. They were a lot of work however they were well worth it. They were the first dogs I finally got to call my own. Sadly, at the age of 3, Dédé became unexpectedly ill and we lost our handsome boy. He will forever be missed, loved and a part of our family. After Dédé’s passing, Nakita went into a depression and we were giving the opportunity of opening our home to another handsome boy, Odin, a mastiff cross. He was a perfect addition to our little clan and Nakita loved having a new brother around. December 2016, we got a call from a local rescue we fostered for, and brought a handsome little pitbull in for the holidays. Needless to say, Loki never left the comfort of our home and is now part of our family.

I have been a certified groomer since 2012, and have loved every second of it! It is most definitely a passion that has enhanced my connection with dogs and I am so thankful for that. I love to learn new techniques, work one on one with the animals and get to know each pet.

I am so excited to be a part of the Canine Quest team and look forward to the many adventures we have ahead in such a positive and rewarding atmosphere.

About Britteny Hodgson

I was born and raised in Grande Prairie. My love of animals started at a very young age. All I dreamt about was having my own pet. My father has bad allergies so my first pets were fish and a gecko. To say the least these animals were not very interactive, so I spent a lot of my time walking and playing with the neighbours dogs.

In April 2008 my father finally gave in and let me get a hypoallergenic puppy. I promised to clean the yard and vacuum everyday! My mom, dad and I drove three hours in a snow storm to pick up my puppy, Odie. That day was the best day of my life.

The lovely lady that I got Odie from was a groomer, she let me bathe and trim Odie before I took him home. She showed me some tips and tricks for grooming; some I still use today. This experience sparked my desire to become a groomer.

As a teenager I worked at a local Veterinary office and kennel business, both jobs fueled my drive to learn more about dogs. I am currently enrolled in a training mentorship program through Canine Quest and will soon be attending the Karen Pryor Academy for Training & Animal Behavior.

I am currently raising a nine month old service dog in training. Lilly has the kindest disposition and loves everyone and everything. The knowledge I am learning from my Canine Quest mentorship Dog Training program is invaluable to my service dog training.

I have now been a professional groomer for six years and I love every minute of my job. Over the years I have built many relationships with clients both human and canine.

I’m very excited to be a member of the Canine Quest family.
